Fine Japanese cuisine

This evening I wasn't very hungry so I decided to just whip something up using whatever I could find in the fridge. This turned out to be: sweet potatoes (a present from some primary school first years I taught the other day), a spring onion, some milk and some out-of-date mustard. I slapped them all together, and the result was this disturbing soupy gruel. It doesn't taste too bad actually, as long as you don't look at it!

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know I'm looking after myself and eating well.

Apple + milk = strawberry

This morning in school a first year student came up to me in the corridor and said, slowly and deliberately, in English,

"Apple plus milk equals strawberry."

As it's not exactly rare to hear that kind of gibberish coming out of junior high school students' mouths, I thought nothing of it. But then during school lunch I noticed that today's dessert was a piece of apple. And we always get milk with our lunch. So I tried a little experiment. The result...

It's true!! If you just take a bit of apple and a sip of milk at the same time, I guarantee you a full-on strawberry experience. Try it!

Public baths

About once a week I go to an onsen with my 'sugar daddy'. He comes and picks me up in his Porsche, we go to the onsen, and afterwards he takes me out to dinner somewhere. All he wants in return is for me to discuss London and the Beatles endlessly with him, which I'm quite happy to do!

Last night, we didn't go to a proper onsen (i.e. one fed by a hot spring), but instead went to a public bath. And it was incredible! If Willy Wonka had designed a public bath, it probably would have ended up a bit like this one. It was a real water wonderland!

There were about 5 different kinds of jacuzzi, all with different-sized bubbles. One of them had special bubbles shipped in from Hawaii, although I'm not sure quite how that works. There were hot baths, cold baths, medium baths, outdoor baths, you name it. There was even a lemon bath that was bright yellow and smelled like washing up liquid. But the king of baths has to be....

the Electric Bath.

Imagine the thrill of sitting on an electric fence for extended periods, whilst also being in the bath! If you ever get the chance to have an electric bath, I highly recommend it.
